Our Story.
Many moons ago a friend of mine joined a majorette troupe called La Classique. I remember sleeping at her house one Friday night and going along to her training session on the Saturday morning. That was it... I was hooked!

Majorettes played a huge part during the turmoil that was my teenage years. Having something to channel myself through and lose myself in gave me a sense of stability. A place to go away from everyday life and just feel like I belonged... And I got good at it. It wasn't long before Sophie joined La Classique - and after a lot of help (and being shouted at) from me - she got good at it too!

This soon made me realise that the part I enjoyed most was the feeling I got when I helped someone else learn something new. That sense of achievement far outweighed any feeling I had from my personal achievements. Those who can... Teach! (That's right isn't it?).

Fast forward a few years to 2008 and with the persuasion of Sophie (my sister) and a lot from Nana Sheila... Unique Baton Twirlers was born. On the first night 22 girls turned up - and we've never looked back. We started competing in 2009 and bar a couple of breaks - and a world wide pandemic - we have competed at local and national level ever since. 

We rebranded in 2019 to Unique Majorette Academy, and again in 2021 to Renaissance Majorette Academy. Renaissance being french for "re-birth"... Covid almost closed our doors - but we broke them down and are coming back stronger than ever!- Corrin
